ConsenSys partners to integrate PayPal into MetaMask 

Leading decentralized software company ConsenSys, today announced a partnership with PayPal to integrate a new purchase method into the MetaMask wallet. The partnership will enable U.S users of the wallet to purchase Ether from the app using PayPal, providing a more convenient and simple way to purchase Ether. 

The collaboration will also mark MetaMask as the first Web3 wallet to integrate with PayPal to bring more transaction options to Crypto.

This new function will be available to selected U.S. users to purchase and transfer ETH from Paypal to MetaMask. Starting today, 14th December 2022, the selected users can access this function, and it will extend to all U.S users who are eligible in the coming weeks. 

The PayPal and MetaMask integration could drive more adoption and engagement with the web3 ecosystem. According to MetaMask’s Product Manager, Lorenzo Santos, “This integration with PayPal will allow our U.S. users to not just buy crypto seamlessly through MetaMask, but also to easily explore the Web3 ecosystem.” 

MetaMask is a self-custodial wallet, and U.S users as one of its top markets. The wallet provides a platform to interact with the Crypto market, NFT, crypto games, DeFi applications, and the metaverse.

How to add crypto to your MetaMask wallet using PayPal

• Download, set up, and log in to the MetaMask wallet mobile App. 

• Click the ‘Buy’ button, scroll, and select ‘PayPal.’ 

• Input the purchase details for Ethereum. The page will redirect to PayPal for you to log in

• Complete the purchase process and be done.

ConsenSys aims to enable developers, institutions, and individuals to build innovative applications and interact with the decentralized web. 

PayPal is one the pioneers of digital payment and leverages technology to provide financial services to users. According to the report, it is empowering “429 million consumer and merchant accounts in more than 200 markets in the global economy.”
