This scene soon became competitive, and Matic looked to rebrand and created its unique identity. Polygon is the hub for creating interconnected blockchain networks utilizing Plasma technology. Accordingly, developers can launch interoperable blockchains on a network without the scalability and expenses of Ethereum. Besides, the blockchains and applications on Polygon can have more functionality than those on other smart contract blockchains. This way, Polygon has distinguished itself from other Layer 2 solutions and created a broader identity for itself. Accordingly, the MATIC token got significant traction, but this performance has tapered off somewhat with the crypto bear market in the past twelve months.
