Animoca’s Mocaverse To Feature Ubisoft’s NFT Game

Crypto gaming giant Animoca Brands is set to expand its Web3 Frequent Player Program by incorporating Ubisoft’s highly anticipated NFT game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles.

Mocaverse Boosts Web3 Identity 

Animoca’s Frequent Player Program is an integral component of its broader NFT Membership project, Mocaverse. The program invites Mocaverse players to engage in thrilling battles among mythical Champions and earn “Realm Points” by completing various tasks. These points can be exchanged for exclusive access to virtual and real-world rewards provided by Animoca, Mocaverse, and its partner networks.

The introduction of Moca IDs, blockchain-based identifiers, add an exclusive layer to the gaming experience. Only Mocaverse NFT holders are guaranteed a Moca ID, limiting access and creating a sense of exclusivity. For others, obtaining a Moca ID requires securing an invite code from an NFT owner.

The Mocaverse, a cross-compatible meta-experience layer developed by Animoca Brands, is strategically expanding its reach across the company’s extensive network of over 400 entities. This move aims to strengthen Animoca Brands’ presence in the Web3 space and enhance its growth in the entertainment sector. Ubisoft’s Champions Tactics Grimoria Chronicles is positioned as a key highlight within this initiative.

According to Yat Siu, Animoca Brands co-founder and Executive Chairman,

“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Ubisoft’s Strategic Innovation Lab to drive awareness and facilitate user onboarding by tapping into the Mocaverse program and incentives.”

Ubisoft’s Strategic Collaboration

While specific details of the collaboration between Ubisoft’s Strategic Innovation Lab and Animoca remain undisclosed, the Mocaverse is positioned to “collaborate, support, and amplify” Ubisoft’s blockchain efforts. 

Nicolas Pouard, Ubisoft VP of Strategic Innovation Lab, expressed the company’s pleasure in joining the Mocaverse program from its inception, highlighting its long-standing interest in Animoca Brands.

“We have been following Animoca Brands for a while now, and it is a pleasure for us to take part and support its consumer-facing execution by joining the Mocaverse program from the first season.”

Ubisoft’s Ongoing Crypto Gaming Ventures

Ubisoft has been in the news for another recent collaboration with a major crypto-gaming company. Earlier this month, Ubisoft and Immutable revealed their joint efforts in creating a crypto “gaming experience.” Ubisoft’s commitment to the crypto gaming space is evident following its investment in Animoca Brands and the upcoming release of Champions Tactics, the company’s first NFT-centric game.

As the release date for Champions Tactics approaches, Ubisoft continues to establish itself as a key player in the evolving landscape of blockchain-based gaming experiences.
