Axelar and Microsoft Partner to Build Hybrid Blockchain Initiatives

Microsoft is expanding its web3 strategy with a new partnership with Axelar Network. The two companies will collaborate to build hybrid blockchain and AI initiatives. According to the announcement, Microsoft and Axelar Network want to develop an integrated and intelligent version of web3.A

Axelar and Microsoft’s new blockchain infrastructure will be designed to deliver easier crypto onramps to the masses.

The companies argue that current solutions offer limited options for developers and organisations that want one-click user interoperability across multiple ecosystems. 

Microsoft believes that by combining Axelar’s secure cross-chain communication network with the global reach and scale of Microsoft Azure, the partnership will be able to unlock seamless Web3 developer and user experiences.

Writing via a press statement on Tuesday, Microsoft said the partnership will give Azure customers access to an end-to-end blockchain interoperability protocol, access to Axelar Network’s software developer kit – Axelar JS, and the Axelar General Message Passing (GMP), which allows developers to leverage different features and functions from multiple networks independent of the blockchains and databases that host them.

Commenting on the announcement, Daniel An, director of business development at Microsoft Web3 & AI said: “We are excited to collaborate with Axelar to accelerate blockchain integration and deliver valuable solutions to our customers. By leveraging our strengths and expertise, we can empower organizations to embrace blockchain technology and transform their operations.” 

The stock companies will work jointly on projects that seek to accelerate the maturity of the web3 industry by leveraging the Azure OpenAI services and private blockchains to create entirely new web3 experiences.

Axelar co-founder Sergey Gorbunov added: “The shared vision inspired us to partner with Microsoft to provide an extensible interoperability layer for the Azure community, from fast-growing Web3 startups to global enterprises.
