ChatGPT Plugin Live For Hedera Network

ChatGPT and HBAR (Hedera Hashgraph’s native cryptocurrency) have an exciting intersection where blockchain meet AI. By leveraging the decentralized nature of blockchain networks, ChatGPT can securely interact with the Hedera network and its services, such as the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS), Hedera Token Service (HTS), and Smart Contract Service.

ChatGPT Plugin For HBAR

The integration of ChatGPT with the Hedera network through a plugin would enable ChatGPT to obtain HBAR and token balances of a Hedera account. This integration facilitates seamless interaction between ChatGPT and the blockchain, making it easier for users to monitor and manage their assets.

Accounts in Hedera are entities stored in the ledger that hold tokens, including HBAR, fungible tokens, and NFTs created on Hedera. Developer Ed Marquez took to Twitter to share how users can create the plugin. He writes about token balances of a Hedera account:

Account balances can be viewed on a Network Explorer and obtained programmatically using the mirror node REST API – the plugin will use this REST API. Keep in mind that the network returns HBAR information in tinybars (tℏ), where 100,000,000 tℏ are equivalent to 1 ℏ.

Once the plugin is developed and the API is running, it can be installed in the ChatGPT UI. With the plugin installed and enabled, ChatGPT can be queried about HBAR and token balances of Hedera accounts. The plugin will make requests to the Hedera mirror node API to fetch the required information.
