The banking giant HSBC has partnered with blockchain-based payments processor FCF Pay in a deal allowing HSBC customers to settle their mortgage bills and loans using specific cryptocurrencies
The supported cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin (BTC), Ripple (XRP), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Ethereum (ETH), and Dogecoin (DOGE). That means, HSBC clients will have the ability to pay off their mortgages using these digital currencies.
The process is straightforward: first, select the recipient for crypto payment, and second, provide payment information. Payments are processed within 2 days, with FCF Pay charging a 2% fee on the bill plus an additional $3.
Significantly, FCF Pay is compatible with all cryptocurrency wallets and safeguards them. But right now, this service it’s only accessible to US residents and they want to extend this to other places in the future.
