Little birdie is back, Elon Musk replaces Dogecoin logo with official Twitter logo

By Sneha Saha: Just a few days ago, Elon Musk replaced the Twitter bird logo with the Dogecoin logo, or the infamous Shiba Inu logo. But why? Well, that possibly even Musk doesn’t know. But it is assumed to be related to the $258 lawsuit against Musk by Dogecoin investors. Many also thought it was a late April fools prank by the billionaire. Now, whatever may be the reason, the little birdie is back once again and we really hope it doesn’t go away again.

Approximately 3 days ago, Musk surprised everyone by changing the Twitter logo to that of the Dogecoin logo. Just as Musk always does, we really thought that the Doge logo would be there for a few hours but that didn’t happen. And Musk being Musk, the logo stayed for around 3 days. I mean, which CEO does that? Not sure about that, but it is quite normal for Musk. The Twitter logo was changed to Doge only in the web version and the app showed the little blue birdie.

In fact, after changing the Twitter bird logo to Dogecoin, Musk also joked about it. The billionaire shared an old screenshot in which he engaged in Twitter banter with a user saying that Musk should buy Twitter and change the logo to a Doge. Sharing the screenshot, he said, “as promised” he has changed the logo of the company.

So, why did Musk really change the Twitter logo to Doge? There’s no clarity on this yet but we assume that Musk is simply trying to divert attention from the lawsuit against him by Dogecoin investors. Perhaps, the point he wanted to prove by changing the logo to Doge is that his tweets about the Doge aren’t an attempt to defraud anyone and shouldn’t be taken seriously at any given point. Now, this is exactly what his lawyers argued in court while terming the lawsuit as a ‘fanciful work of fiction’ over the Twitter owner’s ‘innocuous and often silly tweets’. So, the idea behind changing the logo could simply show the court that his actions pertaining to Dogecoin are indeed silly and nothing serious.

Meanwhile, the billionaire is working towards making Twitter a profitable company yet again. Since Musk acquired the company, its value has dropped by half to $20 billion. He acquired the company for $44 billion, and all of it in cash. In his latest move, Musk revealed that Twitter will start removing blue ticks from legacy accounts and the verification will be given to people who pay for the Twitter Blue subscription. In India, Twitter is charging around Rs 600 per month for Twitter Blue web subscription, while mobile users will need to pay Rs 900 per month to get the blue tick.
