Market falls off cliff as Cardano and Avalanche suffer most

The cryptocurrency market nosedived in the last 24 hours with all the major coins losing a great deal of value.

Cardano (ADA) and Avalanche (AVAX) fared the worst, each shedding 14% to stand 22% and 17% down over seven days respectively.

At the time of writing (7am UK), ADA is down to 84 cents while AVAX is now below $70.

Ripple (XRP) lost 13% to stand at 69c, 16% down in a week.

Solana (SOL) was the other big loser, dropping 12% to $83.35. It is 18% down on its price last Tuesday morning.

Ethereum (ETH), the world’s second most valuable coin, shed 8% and is headed towards $2,500. ETH is 17% down on its price a week ago.

Polkadot (DOT) is at $16.08, also down 8% in the last 24 hours and down 16% in a week.

Binance Coin (BNB) dropped 9% to $257. BNB is 16% down over seven days.

Meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE) is now below 13c thanks to its own 9% loss and is 14% down in a week.

Market leader Bitcoin (BTC) dropped 6% towards $36,900 and is 15% down on last Tuesday morning.

Terra (LUNA) shed 4% to below $50 and is 9% down in a week.
