Solana (SOL) has been aptly named the “Ethereum Killer” because of its goal of becoming the blockchain that unseats Ethereum (ETH) from its high and lofty throne. It already has superior technology and is said to be the fastest blockchain, with its ability to process over 700,000 transactions per second.

It also has very low transaction fees, especially when compared to Ethereum, and uses the Proof of Stake consensus mechanism, which is far superior and more energy-conserving than the Proof of Work system being used by Ethereum.
