On First Birthday, Horse Racing P2E Game DeRace Plans Major Updates

An Eventful First Year for DeRace

DeRace kicked off its journey towards becoming the leading PlaytoEarn NFT horse racing ecosystem with an initial DEX offering (IDO) on DAOMaker on July 26, 2021. The platform’s first year was packed with numerous developments and partnerships including backings from DAOMaker, Binance NFT, Chainlink, Crypto.com, Polygon, etc.

“Last year was a crazy ride for both our team and the community!” DeRace Co-Founder Adelaida Sinkevic told BSC News.

DeRace, which has English football great Michael Owen on its advisory board, also received recognition from CoinMarketCap as one of 2021’s best-performing initial Game Offering (IGO) projects. In addition, statistics showed that the launch of the beta version of DeRace’s GameFi metaverse in December 2021 got off to a strong start.

While there’s a lot for DeRace to cheer about in its first year, the team is pushing forward in Year 2. In a celebratory birthday tweet on Aug. 10, DeRace teased tons of new upcoming features and upgrades to maintain the platform’s momentum and improve the gaming experience for users.

BSCNews had an exclusive chat with Sinkevic about the team’s past successes and projections for the future:

“We’ve been developing nonstop. It’s even hard to believe that in this short period we were able to bring DeRace from a mere concept to a working product. But we are not stopping here, rather we are expanding our gameplay enormously!” she said. “Two major updates are coming shortly and will revamp DeRace from the ground up: a lot of new exciting features, immersive game mechanics, and a sustainable reward system for our players.”

In a Medium post on Aug. 10, the DeRace team painted a picture of what its community should look forward to in the days ahead. The first update will alter the gameplay tokenomics with a revised reward system. The team will also introduce new game missions and achievements, and NFT wearables for the horses, among others.

The second update will introduce features to increase community engagement such as:

• Tournament-style races
• Duels
• Racing clubs
• NFT horse-renting
• Leaderboards
• Fully functional NFT jockeys, and more.

The past year hasn’t been all good news for DeRace, of course. Its DERC token price peaked in late November 2021 and since then is down more than 95%. However, the price is up more than 25% since hitting its all-time low in June 2022.

The project’s current market cap is $23.4 million.
