OSOM is working on its first smartphone for quite a long time and so far, its plans have changed multiple times. It first named the phone OSOM OV1 but has changed that to Solana Saga now. The launch was scheduled for Q4 2022 which has now been pushed back to early 2023. As we wait for that, OSOM has now detailed Solana Saga specifications and pricing details.
The Solan Saga sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The choice of processor here is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It will be sold in a single configuration of 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS storage space. There is support for microSD cards up to 512GB as well.
The dual rear camera setup features a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture with OIS and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The whole package is powered by a 4,110mAh battery with wireless charging support. The phone will boot Android 13 out of the box. Other features include an IP68 rating, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6, NFC, and dual-SIM 5G connectivity.
OSOM says Solan Saga features a ceramic back panel along with stainless steel frames. It will have titanium accents and a fingerprint scanner on the back. The smartphone is priced at $1,000 and can be pre-booked by paying $100. OSOM says the first 10,000 buyers will also get a limited-release NFT collection.
