Ripple Hires Goldman Sachs FX Executive Director in Push to Expand XRP Market Infrastructure

Ripple continues to poach high-profile talent from legacy finance giants in an effort to expand its XRP markets infrastructure.

This month, the global payments start-up hired Aditya Turakhia to serve as senior manager of its global institutional markets team. Turakhia previously spent seven years at Goldman Sachs, including two as the firm’s executive director of global FX and emerging markets franchise management. Before that, he worked as an FX analyst for Goldman in Bangalore, India, and as a junior trader at Flow Traders in Singapore.

A recent Ripple job advertisement for a similar position indicated its global institutional markets team is responsible for expanding XRP liquidity and developing institutional relationships with entities like market makers, brokers, and exchanges.

It’s not Ripple’s first Goldman hire. In May 2019, the company brought over former Goldman executive Breanne Madigan to serve as vice president and head of the institutional markets team, a role she still appears to fill.

Ripple, known for its high turnover, is currently advertising 24 job openings on its website. Among them are some high-ranking jobs, including VP of platform and technical operations; engineering manager for Ripple’s XRP-powered cross-border payments product, On-Demand Liquidity; VP of product marketing; and project manager for Ripple’s joint venture with financial titan, SBI Holdings.
