Sheriff, La Colonia residents meet for ‘Tacos with the Community’

Local residents gathered at the La Colonia Community Center for a “Tacos with the Community” event on Oct. 19, hosted by the city of Solana Beach and the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station.

With tacos provided by John’s Market, located in the La Colonia neighborhood, the community had a chance to meet the station’s command staff, deputies and other personnel, according to the city of Solana Beach. The event was free to attend. Resources were provided on topics such as suspicious activity, neighborhood watch, residential security, preventing burglary, identity theft, vehicle theft, crime prevention services and personal safety.

Wendy Sanchez, a co-owner of John’s Market, was on hand to serve the food.

The La Colonia Community Center is located at 715 Valley Avenue.
