Shiba Inu developers are on the verge of launching a new blockchain-based identity solution characterized as the game-changer that will shake the crypto world.

The team behind Shiba Inu has initiated a countdown to launch a new blockchain-based identity project for SHIB.

According to an October 28 announcement, the SHIB identity project will take place in 72 hours from the time of the post.

It is worth noting that the team did not share specific details about the upcoming digital identity project. However, it attached a video to the X post, which suggests that the identity solution might be incorporated into various Shiba Inu-related projects.

The video first displayed the Shiba Inu logo on a concrete wall with different phrases like “WOOF,” “SHIB IS SHIB,” “NEW SHIB PRODUCTS,” “SHIB NEWS,” and “Visit Shib.io.”

Interestingly, Shiba Inu described the identity project as one that would shake the entire crypto sphere.

Team Announces $5K Giveaway

To celebrate the upcoming launch of the project, the Shiba Inu team announced a $5,000 SHIB giveaway. Interested Shiba Inu community members are required to perform simple tasks, including liking and reposting the official announcement.

At press time, the X post announcing the giveaway had gotten over 9,500 likes and 6,500 retweets.

Top Shiba Inu Team Members React

Meanwhile, the announcement stirred reactions from top Shiba Inu team members, including lead developer Shytoshi Kusama and another top developer, Kaal Dhairya.

Reacting to the upcoming launch of the identity solution, Kusama revealed that “many things are on the horizon to help embrace the possibility of a peaceful world with #SHIB as the foundation.”

Furthermore, Dhairya described the project as the first step towards self-custodial identity.

Solution Aligns with SSI

Although specific details about the project remain unknown, the solution aligns with Shiba Inu’s plans to integrate a self-sovereign identity (SSI) into its ecosystem.

As reported in August, Kusama unraveled the intricacies of the SSI solution, highlighting its importance to Shiba Inu and Shibarium, the cryptocurrency’s L2 blockchain solution.

He explained that SSI enables community members to secure their identities like they secure their crypto assets with private keys.
