For the first time in Peru, the Meta-Hackathon will be held with the aim of promoting the development and creation of digital assets to build virtual realities or metaverses.
The event will take place from February 25 to March 5 with online activities and face-to-face workshops at the Hotel Santa Cruz de Miraflores.
For a week, the participants will attend a series of workshops on blockchain, crypto and NFT (non-fungible token) to learn about the tools and benefits of web3 in the so-called new digital economy.
All those interested in learning more about this new Internet revolution and its innovative decentralized technology that allows an asset (photo, digital art, video) to be marketed in the digital ecosystem will be able to participate.
Registration is free, you just have to register on the Andino DAO page, the first Peruvian DAO: www.andino.ventures/metahackaton.
international guests
The Meta-Hackathon Peru will have the presence of national and international leaders. For Peru we will have Lenin Tarrillo, founder and CEO of Pachacuy; and Pía Rivas, CEO at Crypto Nights; for the USA will be Alex Taub, CEO of Upstream and member of the Bored Ape Yacht Club; and Mónica Rojas, organizer of Miami Hack Week 2021, among others.
Building on Web3
Peru Meta-Hackathon is organized by the technology company Andino Dao, in collaboration with Upstream, private companies and educational institutions such as the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC), the San Ignacio de Loyola University (USIL) among others, which seek to generate a space for articulation between communities interested in blockchain technology for the generation of innovative pieces and assets oriented to virtual reality.
According to Bill Gates in 2024 we will all be involved with the Metaverse. Facebook changed its name to Meta this year and has started building its own virtual reality.
Likewise, Renzo Trujillo Mendoza, founding partner of Andino DAO, indicates that it is important for professionals to become involved in the knowledge of web3 technology in order to progressively achieve the decentralization of the Internet and create products that benefit the communities of Latin America.
“With web3, it will be possible for people to have access and greater power over what is happening around the internet,” said Trujillo.
Another of Andino DAO’s partners, Diego Montes, explains that more institutions are needed to support and train in the development of web3 in the Andean community: “Peru is a country with a lot of talent and we must take advantage of technology for its growth. .”
Designers, developers, artists, engineers and entrepreneurs from the world of the internet have started to create their own collections of objects, items, characters, cities that are currently in operation based on the Web3. Likewise, they have been financing their projects through the launch of their collections of NFTs.
