Tim Draper, a renowned and wealthy investor, venture capitalist and well-known Bitcoin bull, revealed his cryptocurrency portfolio at an investor conference organized by private sector liquidity provider, Linqto. The crypto community already knew earlier that Draper possesses at least 30,000 BTC, which he received from the U.S. authorities as the winner of the auction for the seized Bitcoin from the legendary darknet platform “Silk Road”.
Back in 2014, Draper bought these Bitcoins for $632 USD, which means that the billionaire now owns $315 million of Bitcoin assets and has made a profit of over 1,500 percent in 6 years. It also seems unlikely that he will sell his Bitcoin in the near future. Earlier this year he repeated his prediction that BTC will rise above $250,000 within the next two years.
In his speech at the investor conference, Draper now revealed that in addition to BTC, he also owns Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ripple (XRP), Tezos (XTZ) and Aragon (ANT). Specifically, he explained:
Yes, I’m an owner of XRP. I’m an owner of Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Tezos (XTZ). I’m an owner of Aragon (ANT).
I’m a believer. I think it’s happening – it’s coming. It’s so important for the world, and I want the world to know it, and I want other people in the world to get on board.
Draper’s latest bet in the crypto market is an investment in the Ethereum-based platform Aragon, a project designed to enable users to manage and create a decentralized organization. The VC investor invested one million USD in Aragon and in return received 1 million ANT tokens, which earned him more than 2.5% of the total supply of the token.
In addition, Draper has already disclosed in 2017 that he purchased shares in Tezos and participated in the pre-sale of the Initial Coin Offering (ICO). Just last year, Draper also shared an extremely bullish prediction for Ripple and XRP. At a Quora forum in October 2019, the VC investor said he believed that Ripple as a company was doing everything right and XRP should trade north of $0.90 USD. He further stated:
Looking at the three-time growth of Bitcoin over the past 5 months, one would expect a similar result from XRP…The company is actively developing, expanding the sphere of influence, enlisting the support of large financial institutions and constantly improving the technology of transfers…In addition, Ripple is owned by SBI, a large corporation with companies such as R3. Everything indicates that the current situation, only the calm before the storm, in our case, before the explosive growth.
