The Opensea screenshot above is a nostalgic look back at Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs before they yet again doubled in floor price from late 2021 to now in April 2022.

Today in April 2022 the BAYC floor price is over 110 ETH (over $350,000). Even back then at over 50 ETH people though Bored Ape NFTs had ‘topped’ and wouldn’t go up in 2022.

Yet they did – their floor price (the lowest price it’s possible to buy a Bored Ape for) ended 2021 at around 60 ETH and almost doubled to an all-time high of 118 ETH in February 2022.

Despite their high prices there isn’t one Bored Ape in the top 10 most expensive NFTs sold in history – most of that list is made up of CryptoPunks. There seems to be no price ceiling with NFTs.

The first price of Bored Ape NFTs was 0.08 ETH – that’s how much it cost to mint one at presale in April 2021. So anyone still holding having bought one of the 10,000 in the collection back then on day one are up have seen an almost 150,000% return on investment (ROI) – a 1500x gain in value.

But what’s the next Bored Ape Yacht Club? That’s like asking what is the next Bitcoin and is hard to say. A better question would be what is the next NFT to blow up? You can still make life changing money and get rich being early on the right project, even if it doesn’t become the #1 rated non-fungible token in future years.

Next NFT to Blow Up

One of the NFT and crypto Youtubers we watch, Jacob Crypto Bury, just dropped his picks for the best NFTs in April 2022 that could blow up and different upcoming NFT projects.

After covering recent NFT news on the UK government minting an NFT he covers how he takes a look at some Bored Ape NFTs on Opensea.

Noting it’s not realistic to expect the average person to buy one, he mentions BAYC makers Yuga Labs have plans to build a metaverse and an alternative way to invest in NFTs is to buy ApeCoin, which many investors and traders are bullish on.

A cryptocurrency asset can blow up just like an NFT project, and APE is a crypto related to NFTs – the best of both worlds. It will be the governance token that powers the Bored Apes metaverse and all transactions that take place in it. Holders will have also have a say in the decisions and direction ApeCoin DAO takes – their decentralized autonomous organisation.

Then Jake reviews Lucky Block NFTs which launched mid March 2022 and are listed for sale on new NFT marketplace NFT Launchpad.

His second pick is DeFi Kingdoms which is an play to earn (P2E) game that uses NFTs. Running on the Harmony One network, your in-game character is an NFT. He also covers the price history of the DeFi Kingdoms crypto asset, JEWEL.

So his main prediction for the next NFT to blow up or hidden ‘gem’ is the Platinum Rollers Club collection by Lucky Block alongside related upcoming NFT projects – three native NFT coins and a promising NFT game.

He ends by predicting the wider crypto and NFT markets still have room to grow and it’s a good time to buy the dip to position yourself for future growth. Recently VISA announced they will launch an NFT program to centre themselves in the NFT industry, which they estimate to have a valuation exceeding $100 billion. Their Head of Crypto is bullish on blockchain technology and digital art.
