The cryptocurrency market is growing by leaps and bounds, as there are more than 20,000 coins in the market. Several tokens sprung up like mushrooms after the rise of Dogecoin and introduced newer investors into its fold.

Every crypto has its share of a fanbase and investors flood social media with price predictions, developments, and updates, among others. ICO Analytics published a report on the top 20 most discussed cryptocurrencies in the world. The most discussed crypto in July 2022 was not Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Shiba Inu, but Solana took the top spot.

Solana was the most discussed cryptocurrency last month taking the larger share of 28% on all forms of social media. Ethereum took the second position at 18%, while Bitcoin came a distant third at 5.9%. Also, Shiba Inu took the fourth spot of the most discussed crypto on social media with 4.6%.

Below is the list of the top 10 most discussed cryptocurrencies in July 2022

Solana – 28%
Ethereum – 18%
Bitcoin – 5.9%
Shiba Inu – 4.6%
USDT – 4.1%
Binance – 3.2%
Ripple – 2.1%
Dogecoin – 1.9%
Elrond – 1.8%
Cardano – 1.8%

Matic is at the 11th spot at 1.6%. Also, Luna is among the top 20 most discussed cryptos last month and took the 15th spot at 0.9%.

Bitcoin, Ethereum & Shiba Inu Stay At ‘Top 5’ Consecutively

Previous data shared by ICO Analytics show that Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Shiba Inu remained intact under the ‘top 5’ most discussed cryptos for 12 months straight. Dogecoin, which was inside the top 5 list slipped to 8th position two months ago.

Doge is slowly losing its grip on social media after it dominated Twitter algorithms during the first half of 2021. The price dip is arguably the sole reason for its decline and needs a positive run in the indices for it to claim back its lost glory.

However, Dogecoin is down but not out. The meme-coin is still among the most loved cryptos and could claw back again in the top 5 most discussed cryptos list.
