XRP rockets as Avalanche also spikes

Ripple (XRP) was the big winner among the cryptocurrency majors in the last 24 hours.

XRP gained a huge 20% in value to move from 74 cents to 89c at the time of writing (7am UK), leaving its seven-day price up a whopping 43%.

Avalanche (AVAX) gained 9% to close on $91, with a seven-day price increase of 31%.

Market leader Bitcoin (BTC) climbed 5% to $44,700 and is 17% up in a week.

Cardano (ADA) is at $1.23 following its own 5% climb and 17% higher than its price last Tuesday morning.

Meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE), moved beyond 16.5c thanks to a 6% gain which leaves it 16% up over seven days.

Ethereum (ETH), the world’s second most valuable coin, is closing on $3,200 after a 3% rise. ETH is 16% up on its price a week ago.

Polkadot (DOT) is at $22.75 thanks to a 2% climb and 18% up over seven days.

Binance Coin (BNB) gained 2% to $438 and has enjoyed a 15% gain over seven days.

Solana (SOL) remained around $118 and is 12% up in a week, while Terra (LUNA) remained around $58.50 and is 11% up over seven days.

The overall market cap of the more than 17,400 coins is at $2.04 trillion, a 3.9% increase in the last 24 hours.
