SOFIA (Bulgaria), February 23 (SeeNews) – Loans to Bulgaria’s non-government sector rose by 8.5% in January, reaching 71.4 billion levs ($41.5 billion/36.5 billion euro), the central bank, BNB, said on Wednesday.
At the end of January, the value of loans to the non-government sector was equivalent to 48.6% of the gross domestic product planned for 2022, the BNB said in a statement.
Loans to financial corporations increased by 9.6% year-on-year, to 4.7 billion levs.
Loans to non-financial corporations amounted to 37.6 billion levs at the end of January, up 4.8% on an annual comparison basis.
Loans to households rose by an annual 13.6% to 29 billion levs at the end of January.
