It all started in June when Musk proposed a “cage match” challenge, and Zuckerberg responded with “Send me location.”
Their rivalry intensified after Meta introduced Threads, a social media platform dubbed the “Twitter killer.” Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion in October last year.
Why It’s Important: This isn’t the first time AI-generated yet seemingly realistic images of famous people are doing rounds on social media.
In March this year, a viral AI image of Pope Francis wearing a gigantic white puffer jacket went viral on Reddit and Twitter. The image was created by Midjourney, an artificial intelligence or AI tool that can generate seemingly realistic but fake images.
The AI tool also created images of former U.S. President Donald Trump getting arrested. Trump also shared a fake AI-generated picture of himself kneeling to pray.
