MANISTEE – Manistee Area Public Schools honored 117 graduating seniors during a commencement ceremony on Saturday inside the school’s gymnasium.
The class of 2022 Salutatorian Seth Thompson and Valedictorian Solana Postma both addressed those who gathered in recognition of the graduates’ achievement.
Joe Hendges, a Manistee Area Public Schools teacher, was the commencement speaker, and Alyssa Jackoviak, president of the senior class, also addressed those in attendance.
Manistee Area Public Schools Principal Andy Huber and superintendent Ron Stoneman were also on hand for the ceremony.
The class flower is white roses, its color, blue and gold and the class song is “22” by Taylor Swift.
The celebration was previously planned to take place outside, but was moved indoors to avoid possible rain and cold weather.
